I've been feeling pretty well lately, despite the random mood swings. I shall tell you about my experience at the La Porte Public Library.

I walk into the section of  books that are purchasable. I'm peering around and take a quick look up and see "classics $.50." "Yippppppieeee doo dah day!" I thought to myself. I'm rummaging around grabbing a few things, not noticing the 60 book collection in front of my eyes. This old farmer looking man suddenly starts staring at me. He looked like some random farmer reading some patriotic novel about some soldiers in the Vietnam war. He suddenly starts speaking. "Now you seem them books right there? Yeah... I bought my set for 500 dollars back in my day. Shoot, if I saw it for 25 bucks I'd buy it in a heartbeat." I just stare and listen as he continues. " Yeah if I didn't have it, i'd sure as hell buy it. It's the great books of the western world. It was set up by the University of Chicago and encyclopedia Britannica back in '54 or so. I'm not trying to force you to buy it or anything." I replied with: "No no, I'm tempted to buy it now if I can just conjure up two bucks." "Yeah yeah. I just never thought books should be furniture for just shelves." "Yeah, they should be furniture for your mind as well." I said. We talked a little bit more about the different authors and what not. Aristotle to Copernicus to Shakespeare to Marx and Darwin. I could not resist this sweet-ass offer. We said are good-byes to each other and I thanked him. I started driving home, and as fate had it, I see javad on the road. I called "JAVAD LEND ME TWO BUCKS!" "Okay" he said. "Meet me at the library!" I got the two dollars, explained my story to Javad, Louis and Megan and thus, ran inside to buy my books. "Oh sweet sweet fate! How lovely of you to have intertwined me with this old man and these books!" A heavy load it was and will be.
